Health Sciences Center of Excellence

UC San Diego's Health Sciences Center of Excellence (HSCOE) Faculty Career Development Program

The HSCOE faculty career development program is designed to improve the retention and success of new faculty in academic science and medicine at UC San Diego. The program enhances understanding of academic promotion and advancement, organizational leadership, and effective mentorship over 5 sessions that meet quarterly.  HSCOE faculty participants work with senior faculty mentors on a core area project related to research or program development, clinical care, community-based research or curriculum development project and receive funding support.  HSCOE enhances networking and builds community to support the career development of an engaged, diverse and successful faculty at UC San Diego.

HSCOE is supported by UC San Diego FIRST Program (NIH/NCI U54 CA272220) and UC San Diego Chancellor and Vice Chancellor for Health Sciences.
